In the Fall of 9 CE, 25 year old Hermann, along with his alliance of Germanic tribes, ambushed and destroyed Varus’ Army in the Battle of Teutoburg Forest, which took place near Kalkriese Hill, north of Osnabruck, Germany. When it was clear that defeat was eminent, Varus committed suicide by falling upon his own sword.

Today, we raise our horns in remembrance of Hermann, symbol of Germanic unity and preserver of the freedom on northern Germany and Scandinavia!
