But they were stolen from me…
When I found out last summer that Maleficent was in production and one of my favorite actresses would be performing as the lead, I was beyond excited. To have her share why she took the role and the story’s importance, an extra perk.
I am not a fan BUT some of my friends are huge Disney Pixar and Disney Princess fans. I have always been the outsider since I never felt a connection to the princess of the story, which is why I was so excited for them to tell a story addressing the villain’s point of view . I don’t have the expectation or even the desire that Maleficent will convert the princesses but I do hope that Disney takes advantage of all the tools and talent at its disposal to produce a story of quality that illustrates that the road to being a villain doesn’t always start with a “bad” person.
